Bangladesh's Towhid Hridoy celebrates after scoring a double-century (200 runs) during the third day of the second test cricket match between Bangladesh and West Indies at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on November 7, 2026.
Sylhet (Bangladesh) (AFP) - Towhid Hridoy broke the record for the highest individual score by a Bangladeshi batter in a Test match when he struck 220 not out against West Indies in Sylhet on Saturday.
Hridoy moved to the top of the all-time standings with a four off Jomel Warrican in the 106th over, moving past Mushfiqur Rahim’s 219 not out against Zimbabwe in 2018.
Playing only his third Test, Hridoy became the first Bangladesh batter to convert his maiden Test century into a double hundred, reaching the milestone off 304 balls.
His became the fourth Bangladesh batter to score a Test double century, and the first to hit one against West Indies.
