England wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso (L) has scored seven tries in just 13 Tests
London (AFP) - England wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has been ruled out of next weekend’s Calcutta Cup clash away to Scotland and could now miss the whole of the Six Nations.
The 23-year-old Exeter flyer suffered a hamstring injury in training last week that meant he pulled out of England’s starting team for their tournament-opening 48-7 thrashing of Wales on Saturday.
England coach Steve Borthwick has plenty of options out wide, with Bath wing Henry Arundell running in a hat-trick of tries against the outclassed Welsh at Twickenham and Tom Roebuck also crossing the visitors’ line on his return from a broken toe.
Tommy Freeman, deployed in midfield against Wales, and veteran utility back Elliot Daly can also play on the wing.
But England will miss Feyi-Waboso, who has scored seven tries in just 13 Tests, when they go in search of their first win at Murrayfield since 2020 – the same season when they were last crowned Six Nations champions.
“It looks like Manny will be out for a number of weeks,” said England coach Steve Borthwick. “I don’t know how many, but it’s a number rather than a single week, which is disappointing.
“But that’s unfortunately the nature of elite sport – there are injuries and then you have to adapt.”
